The Albemarle City Hall was a challenging project whose program required the addition of 33,000 SF to an existing 14,000 SF historic city hall.

The goal was to preserve the character and prominence of the exiting building while tripling the square footage. A number of public charrettes were held to insure that this was accomplished. Ultimately, the building was awarded a “Best New Public Building Award” by the NC Main Street Association. The program included new city administrative offices, council chamber, and utility billing/payment offices.
