Albemarle Police Headquarters

Portfolio > Civic > Albemarle Police Headquarters
ALBEMARLE, NC

The existing building was constructed in 1968 and previously was a branch bank for a local company.

T The building serves as the Headquarters for the Albemarle Police Department. Traditional police functions include interview rooms, meeting rooms, secured evidence room, and secure customer lobby. Renovations to this building was mainly interior with a few minor exterior updates. Interior renovations included infilling the 2-story space that was formally the bank lobby to increase the usable area.  Additional modernization of the interior helped provide a more conducive spaces for law enforcement services. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing were replaced with new, cost efficient systems due to the life of the existing equipment. Since the building is located in the City of Albemarle’s Historic District, the exterior renovations were crafted to help preserve the architectural style for that period.
