The Kannapolis Municipal Center & Police Headquarters unites all of the city departments under one roof on the North Carolina Research Campus.

City Administration, the Police Department, and Fire Administration share the facility. One challenge with this project was to combine all the different city functions under one roof along with a large subdividable meeting space. Maintaining police security in sensitive areas of a public building without impacting the access to the pre-function space was also important. The grand hall is conceived as a place of activity where meeting attendees, city staff, and the public interact.
