Town of Middleburg Town Hall & Police Department

Middleburg, VA | 10,897 SF

In 2020 Creech & Associates teamed with Glavé & Holmes Architecture and was selected to design a new Town Hall that incorporated the Police Station on an urban infill site in downtown Middleburg.

Our role as Associate Architect was to lead the space needs assessment, design the floor plan, and provide construction documents for the building interior. The back of the site is adjacent to a beautiful destination resort and was designed to connect through a civic lawn. This notion of the back becoming the front was resolved through the use of an arcade that leads visitors to the main entrance. The plan diagram is driven by the site relationships and separates town hall administration and police with a common hallway that leads to the council chamber. The interior palette is informal, and the chamber is restrained in detail in keeping with the overall clean aesthetic. The exterior is derived from the rural character of the equestrian influence but maintains a civic presence through traditional elements and a cupola.
